I'm toying with the idea of a one-day trip for a taping and another audition. It would be for a 12:30 taping. Train fare into and out of Penn Station is either $112 or $194, depending on whether or not I need to take the Acela. It's an early start to the day, in either case.

Question 1: How early do you have to be at the studio for the test and interview?
Question 2: Should I bother? They've already rejected me once this year, after what I thought was a really good interview. I can come up with two issues that may or may not have had a part in my Sad Card receipt. Both are fixable. (My appearance is not, short of a hair transplant/toupee, application of Just For Men and/or beard-shaving, and maybe some Botox.)

In theory, I could try to convince GW to come with me, and we could make a long weekend out of it with a Thursday taping. I wouldn't need the earlier taping if that were to happen. Getting Broadway tickets or some such thing would be a must to convince her. That, and her willingness to spend the money for the trip and other necessities.

I'm probably just thinking out loud here, and it won't happen as a solo or a tandem trek. But I'm still wondering ...

1. Have you already requested and received tickets? Those tell you when to get there. IIRC, it's around 10:30 am for the early session.

2. Only you can answer that. As one of the "Can't take a hint" group, you know the odds are long. Except it doesn't involve any odds that imply a random and impartial process. And if you don't have tickets and plan to show up as a stand-by, that just makes the long shot a little longer.
