blomit

Straight blueberry puree is too thin to go on the spoon and make a good baby food.

We had been thickening it with rice cereal, but we think that's what's been binding the little guy up.

So we switched to oatmeal as a thickener, thus bloatmeal.

The post subject came about an hour later. It's a funny color.

Have you thought about pureeing the blueberries with bananas?

Our doc tells us that bananas also have a binding effect. Anyway, the amount of blomit was very small compared to the amount of bloatmeal. It's not like he puked it all up or anything. It's just DIFFERENT in quality from the other things I've seen go in that direction.

puree with arrowroot or kudzu as a thickener. Supposedly soothing to the digestive tract.

Good for you pureeing for your kid......

We always had no space/time and ended up doing the organic kid foods in jars.

Blueberry apple was a favorite. Would that work? I know apple is a bit of a binder issue too for some kids.....Maybe a little apple and little oat and make it like a cobbler combo?

Pears a great food to end the binding issue. Lots of fresh pears.

Thanks all. I have to think a little vomit now and again is pretty normal, and we're not worried - I was mostly posting just because I like the word "blomit" and the color was outrageous. Haven't seen puke THAT color since my freshman roommate went to an "around the world" party and had a lot of, uh, blue whales and Alabama slammers. And Frankie pukes a LOT less than Big Joe did, lemmetellya.

Really, we get whatever's organic and cheap and puree it up and feed it to him. Mrs. Fly recently got a cheap food mill and she's like a kid with a new toy. We got 10 pounds of blueberries at a roadside food stand somewhere between Grand Rapids and Kzoo the other weekend, so Frankie's going to be eating blueberries for a while. And I really think oatmeal is the perfect thickener - he likes it and it seems to lead to good pooping outcomes.

He also inexplicably is liking his carrot/chickpea/peach mixture. THAT vomit looks like a melted creamsicle.

Edited because those things with the fuzz on them are peaches, not pears.
