Rock star Jackson Browne has sued U.S. presidential candidate John McCain for copyright infringement, accusing the presumptive Republican nominee of using the singer's 1977 hit "Running on Empty" in a campaign ad without permission.

McCain also had to remove a brief clip of Wayne and Garth saying "We're not worthy" from his online "celebrity" ad. This is the same ad in which Obama was compared to Charlton Heston as Moses parting the Red Sea. Not surprisingly, no one is forcing him to remove the Red Sea footage from the ad.

That's because Moses, Charlton, and Cecille B. DeMille are all dead.

Someone owns the copyright to the film and presumably could stop him from using it, no matter how many of the people who made the film are dead.
