WWTBAM Bored

BD and SIL (no longer FSIL) left this morning, and should be somewhere on the Massachusetts Turnpike right now. Tears were flowing, and may still be. GW is an emotional wreck. I expect much comforting will be necessary in the coming few weeks. She has told her co-workers that when she is back next week, she will be in her office with the door closed, and all communication will be in the form of sheets of instructions slipped under the door.

On a related note, we discovered that a female cardinal is sitting on her eggs in a nest built in the bushes along the side of our yard. Those will be fun to see.

I'm concerned that she's laid those eggs a bit late in the season!

The temperature was down to 49° this morning! But we always have to cool off before the students get back to town, lest they discover that it does actually get warm here. That'd ruin our reputation!

I hope that your daughter will be able to find a job in California.

It hasn't dipped below 60 or so around here yet. And since the cardinals are here year round, the later season may not bother them. I'll have to do some research to see what normal egg hatching time is.

I question that 50/50 chance just because I know at least two people who are on spouse #5. One of them married the same guy twice. Anyway, all four divorces go on the books and enter into the stats against a lot more than two couples I know who have been married more than 25 years. So any individual marriage has a much better than 50/50 chance of lasting.

Of course, MrKelley will be along shortly to correct my math.
