Audition tomorrow

I have an audition tomorrow as a result of this Craig's List post:
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/tlg/791948259.html
In my 24 years of modeling for art classes, this will be the first time I'll be "auditioning" for a gig. But getting figure drawing out of a locked classroom and into a more public setting appeals to me. Plus, it's for a good cause. So wish me luck....

I was just thinking about my WWTBAM appearance and how Regis asked me if I had to audition for it. I told him no, but now here I am about to go to my first...

I can't recall--did you get on the show when they were mixing contestants from the phone pool and the audition pool?

Yes, I got on during the last month of the old phone game, but they had already started doing auditions. My taping was March 7th, 2001 and the airdate was March 11th. I do have a short clip of my appearance on my MySpace page at
www.myspace.com/danielh41 but I don't think Regis's asking me about auditioning is on that clip.

Someone flagged the original Craig's List post for removal. I didn't do it, although the thought had occurred to me. If I'm the only male model to show up at the audition, that would be fine with me. I think they are probably looking for someone younger than I am and with a little less around the waistline (although I have been losing weight lately).
But here is the post for those that didn't see it... Wish me luck today...
In October 2008 we will hold a Live Draw! in Dallas to benefit the Cancer Relief Fund. Live Draw! brings art-lovers together to observe, interact and purchase art “right off the pad” as multiple figurative artists draw female and male nudes in a dynamic, tasteful environment.
The event originated in Los Angeles and was created by international art dealer, Delia Cabral. The event is billed as 8 artists, 3 nude models, One incredible scene.
During the course of the evening 2 female models and 1 male model will hold 5, 10 or 20 minute poses which will be sketched by the artists. The artwork will then be auctioned during the event. The net proceeds from ticket sales and the art sales will go to the Cancer Relief Fund.
Models must have experience posing nude for artists.
Be able to pose for 5, 10 and 20 min. poses.
Be comfortable with an audience.
Be comfortable posing with another model- male or female.
Have knowledge and insight into artists' creative posses.
Looking for striking individuals

The audition went fine I think. I was the only one who showed up during the first hour. It consisted of Delia Cabral, the lady who runs the event, drawing four 5-minute poses. Because of my excitement/nervousness, I jumped into the first pose, doing a really action oriented pose that I normally wouldn't do for more than three minutes. I put a lot of strain on my left quad, so much that the muscle was shaking. But I wasn't about to break that first pose. I was so relieved when her timer finally went off. The last three poses were a little less stressful, and she did some nice drawings.
They said that I should know something within a couple of weeks. They said that they may have another try out session since they wanted to get a large pool of potential models. And like I said, I think I'm older than what they really want. But I still have hope...

What if your current labor situation with your employer is secure, and you are working your normal shifts?
