My neighbor and her husband went to Millionaire a couple of weeks ago. According to them, one of the experts is:
Bill Nye the Science Guy

And he really would be a wonderful expert to use, if a contestant is stuck on a science question. For any other category of question, I have no idea if he'd be any better than the average contestant.
I'd be happy if the question writers started asking more science questions and fewer celebrity fluff questions, but somehow I don't see that happening.

They said he got the answer wrong. The contestant lost a lot of money and was crying. Apparently, my neighbors were fascinated by all of this. They had no idea of all the DRAMA that takes place! : )

Well, he originally was a comedian. Like Will Durst. So they have a track record on WWTBAM that is less than admirable....

But he has a BS in mechanical engineering from Cornell, which makes him a local hero.
And he has three doctoral degrees!
Ummm,
honorary doctoral degrees...
I hope TPTB love that drama.

Oy! All I can say was: when the 3 Wise Men (and I think that was a group with Olmstead) did not know what 'coulrophobia' was in Super Millionaire --- I pretty much wrote-off that choice of lifeline as any sort of reliable strategy. Hopefully players who tape later in the season will see the results and adjust their decisions accordingly.
