I lit his cigarette once.

No, just his cigarette Travis!

After hours club outside of Philly. I had waitressed until about 1-2 am. Crew went out afterwards. In the bar and this guy next to me pulls out a cigarette and has difficultie finding a source of ignition. From what I could tell he was also having trouble finding his pockets and I doubt he could have found his cigarette with a flame without inflicting injury.

As a waitress in the day when you could smoke in resturants, I had a lighter even though I didn't smoke. So I lit it for him. I got a 'Thank you Luv' in return.

So ends my brush with Joe Cocker story.

As I recall, you only told it once... in an old brush with fame thread we had who knows how long ago..... but for some reason I remembered that story and it pops up quite a bit in my mind when I hear a Joe Cocker song....

Now if they ever played a Cocker song at 11:11......

Probably, but not before I berated and humiliated you in front of a large national television audience. Really, Joe, that sounds just atrocious. I think you need some of what Paula's having to calm your nerves...

And they haven't picked you to be on Millionaire yet? Such an excellent story. Just combine it with the reluctant auditioner story and you'd be a shoo-in.
