Plinko mishap!

Contestant wins $33K because the board was rigged for a commercial and they forgot to un-rig it.

I came across this because one story asked for permission to use my Game Show Congress photos of Plinko. Now Public story

I don't know how anybody can win $33,000 in Plinko. The dollar amounts on the Plinko board are $100, $500, $1,000, and $10,000. A contestant can win up to a total of 5 Plinko chips. $32,000 is possible, but not $33,000.

Either there is an error in that article or they changed the Plinko amounts for the upcoming 37th season.

The first article describes the situation; she won $30K with three chips on the rigged game, they stopped it after the third chip and expained the situation, they replayed the entire game where she won a total of $3K. Then they changed their mind and awarded the $30K on top of the $3K but won't broadcast the rigged portion.
