Seating plan is completed. Twelve guest tables and the sweetheart table for the bride and groom. Includes a kid's table, literally; the oldest seated there is 10. The only glitch was a cousin and her husband seated with the non-family members who are invited, parents of Mikaela's friends (and bridesmaids) whom we got to know through high school and college. Can't really see a fix, though, unless we seat them with the kids. Given that the meal is a station setup and not table service, it shouldn't be a big deal.
Finally got hold of the rabbi. Ceremony will be sent by midweek, to be forwarded to the ASL interpreter. Asked him what to use for the breaking of the glass. Immediate response: "No lightbulbs! Period!" I laughed and agreed, as does BD. My own Net search showed that Jewish stores sell special colored glasses inside silk pouches. Some people take the shards and put them into some sort of keepsake. Interesting concept.
Meant to talk with BD about cameras on the table. She wants them, and I'm not so sure. Might be easier, and definitely cheaper, to tell people to bring their own cameras and send us their good photos. I just don't want to be discourteous to the official photographers, or to have people getting in their way. It's a sure thing that their photos will be the best. I want to keep it that way.

How many tables do you have? I thought of you when I was looking through fliers yesterday. Do you have Walgreens up there?
Kodak Power Flash disposable cameras are on sale with coupon for $4.99. Limit 3, but you could make multiple trips or bring multiple people to the store. Here is the link to the sale (click on printable coupon for that, or just grab the flier at the store). http://walgreens.shoplocal.com/walgreen ... rid=-99389#
For that price, it might be easier to just let her have it. I don't think you'll get any good pictures but it's almost one of those things that you should do and then let her see there aren't any instead of leaving her to believe she would have had great candid shots. You know what I mean?
After the wedding just hold onto them and hold out for a good developing special. You can probably do this for under $100 total.

Forgot this in my last post...gsabc wrote:Some people take the shards and put them into some sort of keepsake. Interesting concept.
I am not Jewish and therefore do not claim to know a lot about traditions. However, I do know that when my aunt and uncle got married in a hybrid non-denominational ceremony, they did the breaking of the glasses. They used very pretty colored ones which they sent somwhere after the ceremony...where they were turned into mosaic-style picture frames. They have 2 I think, and they are holding wedding photos.
I thought that was a nice idea...so if you want more info on it let me know. This was 15 years ago but you never know.

Hobby Lobby and party stores carry single use cameras that are sold in packages of 10 - 20 for use at weddings that are dirt cheap. Check out places like that. I don't think we plan on using them at Natalie's, but if BD is dead set on them, get the damn things!
