Weakest Baseball Hall of Fame Class I can Remember!

Richard "Goose" Gossage is the only player voted in by the BBWA. Some of us "purists" have had problems with the ever changing "Save" statistic that came into being beginning in the 1970's. Having evolved from "facing the tying run" to today's stat of coming in to begin the last inning and getting a "Save" as long as your team has no more than a 3 Run Lead, i.e. the "Bobby Thigpen" definition of a Save!
Growing up "When It Only Was A Game", the reliever who was awarded a Save, if anyone was, was the pitcher who gave the best performance during the game in a "relief role".
It's magnified more this year because Gossage is the only inductee as a player. Hopefully we won't have another year where the only one elected to the HOF is a career DH'er. Hello Edgar Martinez!
(for the record, Gossage is also the Leader in "blown saves" with 112)!
