Howya doing?
Well or not so well. Dish all about yourself.
And get your October PCLT points in. I will put those up this afternoon.
I'm doing okay. A bunch of friends of mine are doing the Austin half marathon in January. The husband and I are going to join them. Some of my friends haven't done much fitness stuff, so I am thinking if I help them train, we can help each other.
I think I have the babysitting for that figured out, and if I do, I'm all over it.
My biggest training concerns for running are always my shoes and my sports bras. For long distances, I have issues with my shoes feeling good and fitting right. I also have issues with sports bras chaffing when I do my long runs and them being supportive enough because I want no bounce. The shoes just may end up being an ongoing issue because of the way my feet are, but I think maybe the technology on the sports bras has advanced since the last time I trained long distances.

Okay, so last night I cooked dinner early so Steve could take Erin to Sesame Street Live, and I didn't feel like eating then. And when I felt like eating, I felt like eating the Baby Ruth and Payday bars that were in Erin's treat bag (I'm a Peanut Ho--so sue me) and tortilla chips. But not on the same plate--I'm not THAT weird!
That pretty much sums up my week. Everything is still broken, my computer is screwing up now, and I have a houseguest coming tonight. And I'm out of nutty candy bars, which I suppose is a good thing...

Not so well. Between the wedding, the rehearsal dinner, and the reception (picnic lunch - sandwiches, potato salad, etc.) I ate more than I should.

I keep forgetting about this.

Doin' okay. Stressful week, though, between the shootings in HS's apartment building and arranging the schedule for our contractors (tiling the upstairs bathroom after 17 years of linoleum and replacing the toilet). Could use a backrub, and some good relaxation techniques.
Need to get rid of the snacks, healthy or otherwise. Roasted soybeans may have protein, but they also have fat and calories. I will keep myself from replenishing the supply under my desk when it runs out. I'm stickin' with the dried cherries, though, if it'll keep away the gout-like symptoms.

Really good week. I am forcing myself to keep my promise to eat at the table. It has forced me to cut back on the stoopid eating.
I did sit down and eat peanuts from a plate at the table to other day. So the stoopid eating is not all dead.

It's funny/tragic -- at least I've been doing this long enough that I recognize the behavior.
I see this thread. I know I haven't been doing so good -- the foot problems have kept me from doing much effective exercising, and the lack of exercise has allowed me to slip back into bad old eating habits. Rather than own up to it, and try to get some support from others in the "club," I try to avoid the issue by avoiding the thread.
Anyone with an addictive personality will tell you that avoidance -- conflict avoidance, bad feeling avoidance, argument avoidance, reality avoidance, etc. -- is one of the hallmarks. I am choosing not to dig this particular hole any deeper. So even as I get fatter, I will try to make it a point to post in this thread each week.
As for this week, I actually did get to the gym twice last weekend, which may be what woke me up enough to actually swallow my pride and post here. I should be able to spend some quality time there this weekend, too. The real problem is during the weekdays, especially with DST starting this weekend.

Okay--believe me, you can't get any worse than me, and they haven't kicked me out of the club yet! So forget the avoidance deal, and welcome, or welcome back, or whatever!

Mikey,
With your permission, I will hound you - hunt you down and hound you - to post in this thread every week.
Do I have your permission?

Permission granted, number one. (Or is that number two?)
Carry on.

I'm finally starting to get back on track. Way too much stress and long hours at work equaled lots of snacks and little exercise for me.
Things have improved a bit, so I was able to get back out and resume my morning walks this week. Now up to 3.2 miles in 40 minutes and change. I'm doing better at resisting the office doughnuts, bagels, cookies, and leftover Halloween candy.

Can I join in here? I would like to work on losing some weight after returning from NY where I may have eaten my own weight in bagels and black and whites. Also, I want to do better after reading this:

Not sure how I will avoid turkey cold cuts, but I guess I'll try.

I did the Curves thing twice earlier in the week. It was more about spending time with Mom than being a bango workout, but I felt it, a little.
I think I have time to go to the Y this afternoon, and I know I will go tomorrow. I start work an hour later some days now, so I will be fitting in more workouts in the afternoons.

Of course not the best week since I was still on vacation after the cruise. We got home late Halloween night and I took yesterday off just to try and recoup before I hit this pile of **** at work. And it was a might big pile.
I have been lax in posting the pres points and I vow to be better about that in the future. I did a lot of walking on the cruise. What else can one do when you wake up at 5AM every morning? Not many others up and around at that time. Duh!
I managed one round of golf in CA playing with a ragtag set of clubs, no golf shoes or golf glove but I still managed to shoot a 77 on a fairly long course. Kept the ball in play every hole so no worse than a bogey was recorded. Maybe I should play with no golf and in tennis shoes more often.

Please realize there are a lot of other factors involved in cancer as well. As I know some of you are. Don't count on diet as being your only preventative. In fact, there are many skinny, nonsmoking, non drinking, non bad-food eating people who get certain types of cancer. Just sayin'.

Oh yes, of course, there is usually not one cause for anything and you sure can't change your genes, but it is a motivating factor to be slim. Might as well control the risk factors that we can. I haven't eaten red meat since watching the movie Fast Food Nation, so that one is no biggie for me. Blech!
Thanks for letting me join in.

Again, always check recent medical studies on all of these things. Transfats seem to be really bad. Butter isn't a bad thing anymore, according to recent studies. Red meat studies vary as well. Also, be up on your family history and get appropriate yearly checks.
