My trivial audition

No bone wearying dodgersteve-like drive for me. I live an easy 15 minutes from Tribune Studios. 30 people in my group. 10 passed the test including me though I missed two. We talked about ourselves on camera and played a quick mock game against each other. On camera. This is the same head coordinator who was on Crosswords. There were five of us who had been on the show or asked to be on the show. Yes, I turned them down. Four passed the test and I think only one had won his Crosswords game. The practice game went ok but there were a lot of pop culture q's. Will I be called? Maybe. Maybe not. The entire process took 2 hours. The final gameplay of the show has not been determined and neither has the host.

Really? Did it look like they have abandoned the traditional Trivial Pursuit format with different categories of questions for each slice of the pie? Or weren't they making an effort at authenticity in the mock game?

The mock game was done in a way that everyone had a chance to answer. They wanted to see how contestants played. I think passing the test was important in terms of "knowing" stuff ala J! The mock game was to test potential contestant's telegenicity.

Thanks for the shoutout on that! I'm sure you will get a Call for TP, now I have to worry about playing you and playing against my audition buddy. Yikes! I really hope the $37 K Prize in the video is the "rule" and not the "exception". If it's $2 - 10K like most daytime shows, it could be a misadventure.

The 37k is the exception. TPTB thought the amount was too high. So they are tweaking the gameplay and questions to lower the amount a player can win. We would never play each other since we "know" each other.

Good luck, Uly (& Dodgersteve)!! I sure hope they come to their senses and tweak more toward the player's advantage... there's still time.
Hail to the tweak!
