Realizing I'm not exactly cutting edge on movie reviews, I watched Cloverfield last night with Jeff.
I liked it. He didn't. Had heard mixed reviews previously and was pleasantly surprised.
It was sad. It didn't make me dizzy. I liked the fact that they eventually show the monster and his ugly cohorts. I didn't like the total ridiculousness of the lead guy's quest as he and his friends tromped through the city. And then climbed up the building and all...But it was sweet. And, it was a monster movie after all.
I would like to learn how to live after being impaled on rebar.
Bad bad baby monster. Someone needed to put him in timeout.

You are way more cutting edge than me.
I do not know of this film.
I should feel shame.
I don't.

Nah. It was one of those that came out earlier in the year with a "viral" sort of promotion. It's gimmick is that one of the protagonists is videotaping everything as it happens, like a documentary, since it starts at a going away party.

I watched this with my son last weekend. It was a good father/son movie.
We both liked it. I might not have had I watched it by myself.

Why were you watching movies with Jeff? He said that he was at work last night.

Thanks for the heads up.
I'm gonna have to pass on this one. The Blair Witch Project scared me away from documentaries that aren't really.

The Blair Witch Project creeped me out totally. This one didn't, maybe because it's obvious that the camera-wielding was a tool that is part of the movie. It's just a plain old monster movie. Blair Witch was just ooky.

OK, that's better. If the opportunity comes around, I'll probably look in.
