Question For Cal

Watching Lyn yesterday, reminded me of your friend who did get either the 500K or 1 million dollar question wrong (My memory says it was 500K, but I am not sure).
My question is:
How is he about that now?

No one has ever missed the $1M question, so it must have been $500K.

Pea, if you are thinking about Rod Martin, I beleive that he won $500,000, but I might be mistaken.
The only person who I can remember taking a risk at $500,000 and missing on SyndiBam is the cxollege professor who aired in October of Season 1. (Probably have been other people, but he really stood out to me.)

I just know he was Cal's friend and that he answered wrong - a high level question and went back to 32K.
I wondered if the sting gets less dreadful or more so as time goes on.

It was Rod Martin, and he did, indeed, miss his $500K question. A Question, BTW, that one would have known if a regular player of the QoD here.
I think the "not going all the way" bothered him more than the loss of the money, even then. His financial situation was such that the money wasn't really a major factor for him.

Hmm, I stand corrected.
Perhaps he could have gone all the way with the new lifeline.

It is a different kind of game when it's about the game and not about the money.
I hope he is doing well.

Only if he had played an earlier question differently. He thought he knew the $500K Question, so he would not have switched it.

Three people have lost on the $500K question: Rod Martin, Bob Edgeworth, and Ava Johnson.

I think it was the name of the person who completed Paul Revere's famous midnight ride.

Yep, I checked. He's a great-something uncle of the Presidents Bush.

Didn't Rudy Reber get Dursted at $500K?

And if we're talking about PTBAM, don't forget about Kati Kaboom...

What? You mean to say he's not an ancestor of yours?

I was referring only to the SyndiBAM flameouts. If we're including PT, we've got Reber, Kati "Kaboom" Knudsen, Mark McDermott, Nick Meyer, Richard Klimkiewicz, Lawrence "D**khead" Caplan, and (from the celebrity shows) David Duchovny.

Was this how he was introduced?
How embarrassing!
