I went this afternoon. Got there about 2:30, didn't get through until 5:30. If done properly, it should have taken only 45 minutes.
When I got there, I went right up to the sign in desk, was given a copy of the application and a copy of the show guidelines (they forgot to give me a copy of the wavier). I sat in the room for 45 minutes and filled out the questionaire. Basically the same questionaire as BAM.
Finally, Anthony came in and started talking, and talking, and talking, and talking.... mostly about himself and how he was a great AP and how he'd worked on so many shows and how he's got offers from 5 more shows and he's trying to decide which one to take. Said he had worked on a few Mark Burnett shows including Moment of Truth.
He kept talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking. He went through the wavier point by point interjecting stories about each line item. Then he went through the guidelines, point by point, again, interjecting stories along the way. Then, he talked and talked and talked more about himself.
Finally, we took the test. Test was way, way easy. 5 "passwords". He gave us 3 "clues".
For those who want to know, here's the clues and passwords:
1. bird, waddles, tuxedo
2. teamsters, guild, together
3. squirm, bait, fishing
4. Psycologist, slang, smaller
5. News, weather, prediction
1. penguin
2. union
3. worm
4. shrink
5. forecast
Passing grade was 100%. How do I know? When we were done, everyone passed their test to the middle and Anthony picked them up. I was on the end and saw the paper the guy next to me turned in. He missed #4 and didn't pass.
There was a 10 minute break so he could "grade" the tests (could have taken him 3 minutes as there was only 22 people in the group.)
He sent in another guy to read off the passer list. 15 people passed.
We were then sent into another room where Anthony returned and talk to us, and talked to us, and talked to us, and talked to us, and then said some more shit about how good he was getting people on the show.
The applications and signed waviers were turned in and 2 people were paired together. Then Anthony turned on a DVD which was a rebroadcast of one of the shows.
Fortunately, the Head Casting Director (an older lady who I know is the one making the picks) came in, got the "pairs" applications/signed waviers and called out the first 4 names.
I was in the first group.
They took pictures and then, fortunately, my partner and I were escorted into the mock game/video tape room. We were taped stating our names, ages, what we do, where we live, and a short, interesting thing about us. I was lively, animated, upbeat the entire time I was there, especially throughout the interview and the mock game. There was a girl, Angie, who asked questions to each of us about something on our applications and a guy (don't know his name) who manned the camera.
Once both of us were done, we did a mock game. Each of us gave and received clues 4 times. I got each password on either the first or second clue. My partner couldn't get many of the passwords. I felt bad, thinking that my clues were no good, but she made the cardinal sin of just standing there with a blank stare on her face, wasting time, instead of saying anything, so that I could give her another clue.
Her 4th round was much better. I tried my clues out on a couple of others after I was done, and everyone got the password within 2 clues. So, I guess my clues weren't that bad, just not good enough for my partner.
After the 4 rounds, we were done. Finished. Over. No 2nd interview. No chat with the head casting director lady. nothing else.
Therefore, I am sure I won't be called back. That's fine. I know these shows don't want me, as a MWAG, on their shows. And I can live with that. I love going through the process. I love experiencing the whole thing. And who knows? Maybe 1 day, one of these shows is going to want me. I know I'd do well on Password. There was 1 other MWAG who passed. He was the hubby of my partner. He had been on Chance of a lifetime.
So, that's a wrap for me for this audition.
For any of the rest of you who live in Atlanta, you should go. Just hope Anthony is not the AP conduction the pre-interview stuff. He likes to talk too much.
