Michael Davies says exciting changes coming to Millionaire

#1 Post by goongas » Mon Jul 21, 2008 6:42 pm

Alex Davis from BuzzerBlog, the Game Show Blog said in another game show forum I read says Michael Davies told him, "Brace yourself for the most exciting evolution of the format since Super Millionaire. All unique to the US at this point – we have not imported any of the international modifications."

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Excuse me, Frogman lives in Texas, he's from back east somewhere. Now that's foreign.

Translation: The show is going to jump the shark this season.

Me, too, except I'm going to have to do it on Jeopardy!

Oh. You meant on Millionaire. Okay, I'm fine with having somebody win $1,000,000 there, too.

Makes me wonder what the "international modifications" are.

There's this strange thing some people do at night. It's called "sleeping".

Hey, I grew up in Yankee Country (BTW the rural parts of NY State are a lot closer to Deliverance then most people are aware of) and I lived in Switzerland for 8 years - doesn't that make me an honorary furner?

After you win the million, would you please try and find out when they are taping Halloween week.

So, does that mean you got a happy card and/or call? Or I am reading something in the above sentence that is not really there?

Sorry no card yet, (and if I had one it would not be a secret) as is par for the course on this bored, I am unrealistically optimistic, and I would sure hate to turn them down because of scheduling conflict. And since I am "all in" with the Halloween week I could keep my schedule open if I knew when it was.

I figured you would not keep it a secret, but it still made me ask. Btw, I did not respond when you gave your report, but from what I read I am thinking you have a most excellent chance fo the happy card. And with it being a "theme" I would assume most good cards for that would get called.
