Firefox

I've been having ongoing problems with my home PC; either Windows tells me it found and repaired a corrupted file during power-up or some other random program suddenly has a fatal error. I suspect one of my programs (maybe ZoneAlarm or AVG Anti-Virus) is behaving badly. I don't think it's malware.
Anyway, since it was Internet Explorer's turn to start crashing every time I tried opening a thread this morning, I tried installing Firefox this morning. It installed without a hitch, successfully copied over all my IE bookmarks and appears to be working great!
Any other Firefox users want to mention particular features about this program I should be aware of? I already see, from typing this post, that it has a nifty spellchecker!

The main advantage of Firefox over IE is the extensions you can use with it. One extension I use is called Foxmarks, which allows instant synchronization of your bookmarks on each machine you install the extension. Firefox supposedly is also faster than IE.

What Eric said. I only use IE for a few programs that won't run on Firefox. I forget which one it is that I run into on occasion, but it's rare.
I love the Firefox extensions and you can tailor it to what you want to use.

Firefox is Da Bomb, officially. I can't think of an IE function that isn't duplicated, usually better, in FF.
Did you get FF3? I haven't DLed it yet, because when I initially tried, all the servers were too busy with other geeks trying to DL it at the same time.

Yep. 3.0.1.
Firefox just set a record for most number of downloads in one day when they released this version, didn't they?

I use Firefox too. I read that the reason it's faster is that it pre-caches the top few hits on a Google search, so it's already loaded the top few which are usually the ones people want.
I use Delicious i/o the Firefox synching. i find it's handier and I can tag my bookmarks to search them.

Yep. 3.0.1.
I downloaded Firefox 3, but one of my favorite extensions (Dog Ears) didn't work, so I went back to Firefox 2.
I started using Firefox for sweepstakes and now I use it for all things.

When I was having some kind of spyware/malware problems 2 years ago, I downloaded it one Wednesday night and gave it a whirl for a few minutes before I went to bed. It was weird, but I figured I'd get used to it....
I never got the chance. When I woke up the next morning, the hard drive blew to kingdom come. Never bothered to download it on the new computer I got.....
