I"m not convinced he's jazz. I've already used up all my guesses, but I was looking through the horn sections from 70s soul groups. Haven't found him yet, though....

Maybe not, but he's using a jazz mouthpiece.
i would have thought that paint scheme on the neck would have been a Google-able element.

He died in 1997. Must have been bitten by that coral snake he was handling.

This looks like a tribute to the Belgian citizenship of Adolphe Sax, as the stripes resemble the stripes of the Belgian flag.
