I'm outtie

#1 Post by tlynn78 » Thu Jul 17, 2008 1:10 pm

I got roped into hosting a Home & Garden Party for my mom, so I'm leaving early so I can be ready. I tried the get-off-at-five and-rush-home-to-get-things-ready-before-6:30, but invariably someone shows up early to "help" so I'm outsmarting them this time and taking the afternoon off to prepare. Ha!

I hate when people show up to "help"!

I routinely make sure I'm ready an hour early now, to prevent that. My mother is notorious, for some reason after me living in the same place for 6 years, she still can't remember how long it takes to get to my house, and she is always suprised at how fast she gets there!

Me too, unless I ask them to. And don't bring a treat/dish/snack unless I ask you to. I'm not a control freak, not me. I just like my serving pieces to match and my planned menu to remain undisturbed. No controlling going on here, nope, no way.

Me too, except I happily accept all treats/dishes/snacks -- that means that my favorite can go back in the refrigerator and I don't have to share it! Mmmmmmmmmmmtreatsmmmmmmmmmmmm

I agree with sprots. If someone brings something I don't want to serve - I don't. I save it for my own darn self.

People who are picky about their stuff getting served get the message real fast.

I got an invitation to a baby shower that not only listed where the mom to be was registered but also included a card that said "bring your favorite dessert or horderve!

I was shocked. Who can't host a shower if all the guests bring the food?
I couldn't make it, but I sent a gift.
