We just got ours last week. Apparently they had sent a letter prior to sending the check (Jeff saw it). Did you get a letter?

I'd be perfectly happy to check your stimulus.

Yeah my bf was supposed to be in the first batch and when forever without hearing anything. Then finally he got a letter stating the new date he'd get it, then he actually got it a week later.

We got our about a month ago, but if we didn't, I'd be checking.

... Wait, who am I kidding. SteelersFan would be checking.

We heard that send order was based on the first two digits of the last four digits of your SSN. Mine starts with 9, his with 8.

IRS.GOV "Where's my stimulus payment" has resources for checking the status of your payment:

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/ ... 65,00.html

If you filed an extension this year, do not bother though, as your stimulus payment will be processed appx 6-8 weeks after you file your return.

Usually it's based on the last two digits of your SSN. Mine, at 77, went out last week. The 80's go out this week and the 90's next week. Mostly. Sorta. As well as any government agency can count.

And OT: Snaxx - That's a mighty fine avatar you have there!

My SSN ends in 71. Our check was scheduled to be printed on 7-4. We received it on 7-6. $2,400 was pretty stimulating.

Were there two waves on this? We all got ours in May. My lovely sister (11) got hers the beginning of May while my brother and I (at sixes and sevens) got ours a week or so later. It was supposed to be two or three weeks, but they were ahead of schedule.

And all three of us got our SSN at the same time, my sister always lucks out....

Yes, people who had filled out their tax returns to request their refunds by electronic transfer got their stimulus payments first, also electronically. They they started writing real checks to the rest of us.

Thanks. I happened to think afterward that maybe the May thing was just EFT people. Of course, they had to send like three letters about it, so there went their "paperless" savings right there. Ha!

I shudder to think of (the other) ghost's response to this, but why does anyone prefer hard checks for anything now days?

Maybe I was just pre-conditioned for the online payment type stuff since Judicial started requiring people to get paid by direct deposit back in 1988 and I have a family full of bankers so I'm not as goofy about 'real' money as some.

Ha, the funny part of this is that I started out the above paragraph with 'I'm just as much of a Luddite as anyone, but,". Then I decided that maybe I really wasn't a Luddite anymore, so I erased it.

In my case, since I don't check my balance online, I wouldn't know when the refund check was deposited until my monthly bank statement arrived, anyway, so I figured I might as well get the paper check so I knew when I took it to the bank. But I also haven't used my check for any economic stimulus, so far.

I don't have any philosophical objection to EFT, though. I have my paycheck direct deposited and I used automatic EFT to pay my electric, phone and cable TV bills. The other ghost does have a different opinion about that, IIRC.

Well, if either of us really were Luddites, we wouldn't be here on this fine morning now, would we. There are barns to raise, cows to milk, shoes to shod.....

I'm very much old fashioned when it comes to money transfer, though. And it ain't just WG's fault.....

Ooooh, I got a WG hit yesterday! In two months, George has shuffled off to Buffalo! :)

I'm sure getting hits is routine for you, beast, but it's a rare event for me.

I was 5 hits shy of 6,000 as of yesterday afternoon. I'll soon find out if I got any closer since then....
