My pick would be "Mad Men"

"Two and a Half Men" (CBS)
My pick would be "Two and a Half Men" but the award will probably go to "Entourage"
macrae1234 wrote:Outstanding Miniseries

"The Andromeda Strain" (A&E)

"John Adams" (HBO)
"Tin Man" (Sci Fi)
My pick would be "John Adams" with "Tin Man" being a close second.

"The Memory Keeper's Daughter" (Lifetime)
"A Raisin in the Sun" (ABC)

I didn't see any of these, so I'll pick "A Raisin in the Sun" at random.
macrae1234 wrote:Outstanding Reality-Competition Program

Definitely TAR.

I'd pick Kyra Sedgwick, but Holly Hunter would be a close second.

Hugh Laurie, definitely.

Christina Applegate, "Samantha Who?"
America Ferrera, "Ugly Betty"
Tina Fey, "30 Rock"
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, "The New Adventures of Old Christine"
Mary-Louise Parker, "Weeds"
Probably America Ferrera, but could be Tina Fey.

Alec Baldwin, "30 Rock"
Steve Carell, "The Office"
Lee Pace, "Pushing Daisies"
Tony Shalhoub, "Monk"
Charlie Sheen, "Two and a Half Men"
Much as I love "Monk" I don't see Shalhoub bringing home an award. Carrell will probably get it.
macrae1234 wrote:Supporting Actress, Drama

Candice Bergen, "Boston Legal"
Rachel Griffiths, "Brothers & Sisters"
Sandra Oh, "Grey's Anatomy"
Dianne Wiest, "In Treatment"
Chandra Wilson, "Grey's Anatomy"
I'd like to see Candice Bergen win it, but it will probably go to Sandra Oh.
macrae1234 wrote:Supporting Actor, Drama

Ted Danson, "Damages"
Michael Emerson, "Lost"
Zeljko Ivanek, "Damages"
William Shatner, "Boston Legal"
John Slattery, "Mad Men"
Slattery might win if "Mad Men" gets the series award. But Danson or Shatner would be good choices also.
macrae1234 wrote:Supporting Actress, Comedy

Kristin Chenoweth, "Pushing Daisies"
Amy Poehler, "Saturday Night Live"
Jean Smart, "Samantha Who?"
Holland Taylor, "Two and a Half Men"
Vanessa Williams, "Ugly Betty"
No choice from this group.
macrae1234 wrote:Supporting Actor, Comedy

Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men"
Kevin Dillon, "Entourage"
Neil Patrick Harris, "How I Met Your Mother"
Jeremy Piven, "Entourage"
Rainn Wilson, "The Office"
Jon Cryer would be my choice, with Neil Patrick Harris a close second.

Tom Bergeron, "Dancing with the Stars"
Heidi Klum, "Project Runway"
Howie Mandel, "Deal or No Deal"
Jeff Probst, "Survivor"
Ryan Seacrest, "American Idol"
Heidi Klum or Tom Bergeron.

Hugh Laurie is overdue to win an Emmy. They better not give it to James f***ing Spader again.

I'm just glad that incredibly bland and unfunny Everybody Loves Raymond is no longer on and winning Emmys.

Michael Emerson deserves an Emmy for Lost. He should have won last year, but got beat out by his own castmate, Terry O'Quinn.

It appears that at least half of these nominations are for shows that can not be seen on broadcast television. How do the Emmy PTB define "television" these days? Is an internet-only show eligible to compete against a cable-only show? If not, why not? Whatever they call it, it's all just a bunch of 1s and 0s coming into your house through a wire.

I completely agree. IMHO Michael Emerson is a genius of an actor, and his character totally commands my attention when he's on screen. He's got the creepiest eyes on TV, and he knows how to use them.

If TPTB give the Emmy to Shatner instead, I will scream.

Completely agree with Michael Emerson winning, but while were at it how come castmate Matthew Fox can't even get a nomination for lead actor? Granted he may not be deserving of a win but he certainly plays his part well and I think he qualifies for the lead actor catergory...

I think his main problem is that for at leas the past two seasons, Jack has been overshadowed by Locke, Ben, Charlie, Desmond, Sawyer, Hurley, and Juliet.

It's hard to understand why he wasn't nominated for Seasons 1 & 2, though.

I haven't ever seen but about 1/3 of the shows listed here, if that many.

Howie got nominated? Plu-ezz!!
