Quick one today.

The gown is complete. Fits perfectly, according to the two ladies, and they know how to gownhorn BD into it. (If a shoehorn helps you put on a shoe ...) GW got talked out of bringing it home. So it stays with the seamstress for pressing, and will be picked up just before the wedding.

BD started on the seating plan last night. Lots of sticky notes on a big, flattened cardboard box. She and GW were poring over it for a couple of hours.

What are the benefits of a seating plan?

I am sure there are excellent reasons. I just don't know them.

Gotta make sure that pea and holtdad have plenty of distance between them.

That's only if you don't want some entertainment value.

The families get to meet each other.

Relatives get to talk with other relatives who they don't see all that often.

Relatives who don't like each other are separated (fortunately not a problem we need to deal with).

Relatives and friends of similar ages can be seated together (BD's friends and cousins, for instance).

Of course, if people want to rearrange themselves, that's fine and out of our hands. We just give them the baseline from which to start.
