My prayer for the Hot Seat

Grant me the ability
To use a lifeline on a question I cannot answer,
The courage to skip the lifeline on questions I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.

A good prayer!

And in that line, you might take a few minutes of your ample spare time between now and then ( :P ) to read an excellent article that Ogi Ogas wrote after his appearance: WHO WANTS TO BE A COGNITIVE NEUROSCIENTIST MILLIONAIRE? He talks about some mental techniques he used to help tease out stuff he did know from the recesses of his brain.

Ogi is a Bored Buddy, although I don't recall if he's posted here since we moved to this new site.

Thanks Marley, I had seen that article - it's great. I was especially interested in it because after teaching high school I decided to go back to grad school and study A.I and I took a number of cognitive psychology classes as well - so I really enjoyed reading it. I wonder if ever regretted not going for the $1 Million since his technique worked there as well!

---Jay (Down to 12 days - same as the number of people in my family!)

I thought you were gaining a daughter-in-law? I guess you can't count her yet.

Good stuff.

If I ever get there <snort> I would probably use Alan Shepard's prayer. Short, and to the point.

Good point - but as you note not until Tuesday. I now have to update my mental count on the size of the family - first change in 9 years!
