QoD July 11, 2008

2 points per correct answer, 10 points if you get all four correct. Answer with a Spoiler tag in one post in this thread before noon CDT on Monday, July 14.

No outside sources allowed. Just take your best guess.

1. What river forms part of the border between Indiana and Illinois?

2. The Iliad got its name from the Greek name for what city-state?

3. What disease got its name from the belief that it was caused by the influence of the stars?

4. What are the three required swimming strokes of the Individual Medley Olympic event? (One leg is Freestyle, I want to know the other three)

You still have a couple of hours to answer the July 10 questions if you have not done so already.

1. What river forms part of the border between Indiana and Illinois?
Oh, geography...total guess that it is the Ohio River?? (I will be kicking myself if it is Mississippi which is my default guess for any river in the US)

2. The Iliad got its name from the Greek name for what city-state?
Troy

3. What disease got its name from the belief that it was caused by the influence of the stars?
Well it's got to be something old...and I'm guessing it starts with I...Influenza is the only thing I can think of. It doesn't sound related to stars but neither do tuberculosis or the bubonic plague, and they don't start with I. Okay, influenza, final answer.

4. What are the three required swimming strokes of the Individual Medley Olympic event? (One leg is Freestyle, I want to know the other three)
Ugh, my exboyfriend's brother was a swimmer so I should remember this...breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke?
