Jeopardy Callbacks Question

I don't know why this didn't occur to me before, I guess because I don't give it any thought, but reading about BoB's getting 86ed from the Jeopardy board brought it to mind.

If they call you for the show, do they email you as well? At the time I auditioned, I didn't yet have a home phone so my contact number is my now cancelled cell phone number.

Not that I'm going to get a call, especially since there's new blood in town now, but at least I won't think about it again 8 months from now and always wonder. Ha!

If your information has changed, I'm pretty sure you can send them the updated numbers without any harm being done.

Someone here can tell you how to do that as well. Not me, of course, but someone will help you.

Yes.

When I auditioned, I was living in Pittsburgh, and gave them my cell number. Six months later, I moved to New Jersey....and got a new cell number. So imagine my surprise to find, in my GMail mailbox, a note from Tony P. saying that they had been trying to call me, and would I please let them have my new phone number!

What! I got Maxwell Smarted from the Jeopardy! board? When did that happen? Why wasn't I informed? --Bob

You're Bob. I'm BoB. There's a difference.

YAY! Now I don't have to worry about doing anything. I'll just stay secure in the knowledge that if they are nutty enough to want me that they'll email you so that you can let me know.

BoB, not Bob. I'm sure you're not as wild and crazy as to do anything to get yourself 86ed.

What did I miss? When/How/For what was kay removed from the J! board?? If that's the way they treat folks, I'm not sure I want to be a part of their little group!

I mean!

She was ejected for being wanton, unruly, licentious, and just a general scofflaw.

You can also read all the gory details in the 'something to ponder' thread.

Oh great! Now Hermillion thinks I'm a trouble maker. She's even shared a hotel room with me before & I didn't steal anything of hers or cause a ruckus.

What can I do to get my good reputation back???

No can do. It's gone with the wind, Scofflaw O'Hara.

Never gonna happen, my friend. As Marley will tell you, I apparently refused to give the proper gravitas that the occasion demanded.

I've put in for several Jeopardy auditions in the past and never got an invite. So I just took the online test last year for funsies and never thought anymore about it.

I'd forgotten I'd even done it by the time I got the audition email several months later. I wasn't even going to go, but I made the mistake of telling my Mom about it and she ragged on me. So I basically went on a lark (yes, I know how people around here feel about that) and didn't do anything to impress.

You'll just have to make do with admiring me upon the throne of Fantasy Football Queen Land.

Kay, I'd go anywhere with you -- and even share hotel rooms again. It's those obnoxious J! bluenoses I don't want to hang around with!

So, Fanny, are you going to enter the million-dollar online fantasy tournament? According to my local fishwrapper Fanball.com is sponsoring a "guaranteed seven-figure prize for fantasy football." It costs $125 to enter.

That does help, thanks.

Now I can just email in my phone number, thereby freeing up Caro's inbox for important stuff like the opportunity to help deposed Nigerian princes and taking up nice people on their guarantee to increase his happiness.

Huh, Fanball hasn't sent me any emails about that. Probably not though, I'm in one league that goes by total points and it's just not as interesting as HTH, the thrill of the play and all that. Competing against 5876048306833 strangers somehow isn't as fun as going against one individual team.

Well, as the article explains it, entrants will be divided into 10-team leagues and after nine weeks of head-to-head games, the top players will go into the playoffs until only 15 remain. Those 15 will be flown to Vegas during Week 16 of the NFL season.

Oh, well that's kind of different. Usually the big contests are just like a salary cap pick a roster thing and goes by total points. I might have to actually go to Fanball and check out the scoop on that one.

Then again, maybe Fanball has sent me an email about it and I just deleted it, as I do all the contest type stuff I get from anywhere.
