"At this time, the FDA is advising people in high risk populations such as elderly persons, infants and people with impaired immune systems to avoid eating raw jalapeno and raw serrano peppers."
The FDA's website is probably one of the best for government organizations, but it sometimes provides a few unintentional chuckles.

I guess Gerber will be pulling their Jalapeno Puree off the shelves.

My dead cat Sebastian used to love to eat pickleed peppers with Jeff.

Poor Chapman. Guess he can't have that spicy pepper sauce I whipped up for him yesterday.
He has liked every single thing I've offered him to eat so far (only prepared baby food - he has no teeth yet.) Somehow I think he'd probably go for the Jalapeno. He's grown 7 inches in his 6 short months of life.
I keep saying he'll have rock hard abs by 12 months, as he does a "sit up"
already, lifting his head and shoulders up from a prone position with his legs outstretched and held taut. It's perfect form.

Which one is the second group?

Hmmmm. Maybe that's why he's dead?

Sam was mortified when she saw this:
I think the jalapenos would have been more up her alley.

Thank goodness there weren't any puppy or kitty pictures!
Edited to add:
<----LOOK! I'm the (C)indy 500!
OK, it is late and I must go to bed.

It's fun watching him grow up on your avatars.
I miss having a baby around. My next door neighbor just had her third baby in four years and there is a lot of noise coming from next door.

I'm assuming that in general, elderly persons do not indulge in major intake of raw jalapeno or serrano peppers.
The FDA's boilerplate warnings aren't always on target. Obviously.

Now, see, that wouldn't have even occurred to me. Maybe it's a regional thing. Old Mexican ladies down them like they were Carter's pills around here.

The items with the pictures of the cow, horse, bunny and fish are all baby food. What is on the outside of the package is the type of food you get on the inside. My daughter Sam originally thought the picture was just a logo, but we quickly found out that wasn't the case.
The diapers, which are on the right side of the picture, were unrelated to the pictures of baby food. It just made me laugh when Dan referred to them as horse diapers, etc. LOL

Oh.
I can see why Sam was mortified!

At least Sam would have learned the Italian words for horse, rabbit and fish, and presumably cow from the partial box visible to the left.
