I haven't made the pilgrimage to see if The Sale is on here. I usually go Monday, but I had to go to the cell phone store and then my Mom had eye surgery on Tuesday.littlebeast13 wrote:Here's Fanny! wrote:I'm finished enabling you in your quest to surpass the Belle of the Board in post count.

I've gotta have my midnight snack first, so the compiling will have to wait a bit....
I need to get rid of all these old worn out pencils all over the place so I can replace them with brand new ones tomorrow.....

I actually prefer Ticonderogas, but they're always so expensive. The Dixons are a dream after the crappy generic "Office Works" ones I've been using for a while now. Here's Fanny! wrote:I haven't made the pilgrimage to see if The Sale is on here. If you're going past a Staples, they have full Dixon 8 packs for 1 cent (limit 2 so bring friends!), travel size Purel for 1 cent (limit 2) portfolio folders for 1 c (limit 10) and the floppy binders for 25 cents (limit 4). Got out of there with a whole bag full of stuff for $1.22!

The pack I most recently bought was the cheap USA Gold stuff we sell, but they do the job. Unfortunately, the pack just sits there on the desk while all the used up pencils continue to occupy space in my baseball card box-turned pencil holder...Here's Fanny! wrote:I actually prefer Ticonderogas, but they're always so expensive. I generally have 3-4 pencils going at once, but I use them equally and sharpen them together so they will all remain the same length. When they get to be stubs, they get tossed in the 'scribble box' for quick notes and check offs.

I'm thinking about going today if I don't go to Costco instead. Stopping at Staples along the way for more 1c stuff, of course.
The no notebooks saves me from making a special trip, I'll just wait until my regular Monday pilgrimage.littlebeast13 wrote:Here's Fanny! wrote:So, what were the results of the big haul yesterday?

Still no nickel notebooks. Apparently the palletloads have not come in yet.....
I did take your advice and pick up the Ticonderoga pencils. Very nice. I cleaned out my pencil/pen holder and now actually have usuable writing instruments within my reach! I also picked up three 15 cent folders... ornage, yellow and blue since I already have red, green and purple! Got a pack of pens (black ink, since the last ones I got were blue). The rest of the stuff I picked up was art supplies to keep the squirrel occupied.... drawing pad, big-ass box of colored pencils, 30 count markers, Sharpies, double pack erasers, another cheap-ass sharpener, shatterproof ruler, and a Take-a-Long tote to lug it al laround in. I think the cashier was in shock when I checked out because I normally only end up buying a couple items at a time....
I also got another cheap pair of shoes, certainly not Beebs approved as they were less than $10, but I'm not trying to make any fashion statement other than I'm cheap....

I'm on a self-imposed shoe buying hiatus, thusly $10 sounds like a good deal to me. Did they have soles?littlebeast13 wrote:Here's Fanny! wrote:So, what were the results of the big haul yesterday?

I use a particular brand of cleaner for my granite counter tops. Since spouse has to clean up the kitchen every after he cooks HIS dinner (it's a long story) he uses a lot of it.
I can only find it at World Market. They've been out of it for 2 weeks. I was instructed today to see if they have it in yet and to buy every single can they have!
Of course, I'm not going to do that. One can lasts 2 or 3 months. I would have about a 10 year supply on hand and then have to worry about where to keep it. Someone told me Sam's carries it. I had a friend give me a Sam's card from her business account. Our Sam's has only been open a couple of months and, of course, I've never been in it.
I may make a trek there today just to check it out. This cleaner runs about $3.79 a can.

There happens to be a World Market in the same shopping center as Staples, where I was going today to look at PENCILS PENCILS PENCILS. If you allow me to talk about pencils as much as I want to, I"ll check for your cleaner.kayrharris wrote:That's enough about pencils!!! I thought that would be a good price, if it included shipping. One can, shipping is $8.56!kayrharris wrote:Sorry, I got distracted cleaning!!
