I've gotta have my midnight snack first, so the compiling will have to wait a bit....

I need to get rid of all these old worn out pencils all over the place so I can replace them with brand new ones tomorrow.....

I haven't made the pilgrimage to see if The Sale is on here. I usually go Monday, but I had to go to the cell phone store and then my Mom had eye surgery on Tuesday.

If you're going past a Staples, they have full Dixon 8 packs for 1 cent (limit 2 so bring friends!), travel size Purel for 1 cent (limit 2) portfolio folders for 1 c (limit 10) and the floppy binders for 25 cents (limit 4). Got out of there with a whole bag full of stuff for $1.22!

I actually prefer Ticonderogas, but they're always so expensive. The Dixons are a dream after the crappy generic "Office Works" ones I've been using for a while now.

I generally have 3-4 pencils going at once, but I use them equally and sharpen them together so they will all remain the same length. When they get to be stubs, they get tossed in the 'scribble box' for quick notes and check offs.

Good Lord, nothing like giving it all away!

We literally have nothing in this town other than a Wal~Mart and a K-Mart, which is really odd for a major suburb of a large city. They're supposed to start developing all the land out by our store for a big commerce center, but if they keep digging up Injun artifacts, that ain't gonna happen.....

The pack I most recently bought was the cheap USA Gold stuff we sell, but they do the job. Unfortunately, the pack just sits there on the desk while all the used up pencils continue to occupy space in my baseball card box-turned pencil holder...

And when I say used up, I mean the erasers, not the lead. I use the crap out of the erasers, mainly due to all that leaderboard updating in the games I run here....

So, what were the results of the big haul yesterday?

I'm thinking about going today if I don't go to Costco instead. Stopping at Staples along the way for more 1c stuff, of course.

Still no nickel notebooks. Apparently the palletloads have not come in yet.....

I did take your advice and pick up the Ticonderoga pencils. Very nice. I cleaned out my pencil/pen holder and now actually have usuable writing instruments within my reach! I also picked up three 15 cent folders... ornage, yellow and blue since I already have red, green and purple! Got a pack of pens (black ink, since the last ones I got were blue). The rest of the stuff I picked up was art supplies to keep the squirrel occupied.... drawing pad, big-ass box of colored pencils, 30 count markers, Sharpies, double pack erasers, another cheap-ass sharpener, shatterproof ruler, and a Take-a-Long tote to lug it al laround in. I think the cashier was in shock when I checked out because I normally only end up buying a couple items at a time....

I also got another cheap pair of shoes, certainly not Beebs approved as they were less than $10, but I'm not trying to make any fashion statement other than I'm cheap....

The no notebooks saves me from making a special trip, I'll just wait until my regular Monday pilgrimage.

Be warned, once you go Ticonderoga, you never want to go back! My Dixons only sharpened marginally better than the crap generic ones, apparently Boston changed more than the name when they changed to X-Acto. I've been eyeing this vertical oriented one at Costco that says it's won all sorts of design awards and such. I might just splurge on that today. If it's all that and a bag, I might even send you one.

I was going to suggest that you just get a pack of erasers. I rarely used the eraser on the pencil, but that's another thing I hate about cheap pencils, they have those hard ass erasers that just tear your paper. I really like those yellowish-brown ones that Walmart has, they're a square block that kind of crumbles like cheese but they don't leave a line at all! Sort of a cross between a standard pink eraser and a white art gum eraser.

Pens I never get because the best pens in the world are the free ones I get from my credit union. They just glide across the page!

I checked and the 1 cent Staples sale only went through Wednesday! I'm bummed, I really wanted some more portfolio folders. I'm reorganizing all my ebay stuff, with different colours signifying different products.

I need some new highlighters (I colour code with highlighters as well), and the retractable ones that were free after rebate were out of stock when I went Monday, so I might just have to stop by Staples for those, anyway. If the regular price of the folders is reasonable, I'll pick up some more. If not, they'll have to wait until I price check at the BTS sale.

I'll let you know if the notebooks come in over the weekend or not, though I'm sure it won't be some universal timing thing company wide. It probably depends on whenever each individual distribution center gets their shipments in....

That's enough about pencils!!! I didn't know you could talk about pencils for more than one sentence!!

I use a particular brand of cleaner for my granite counter tops. Since spouse has to clean up the kitchen every after he cooks HIS dinner (it's a long story) he uses a lot of it.

I can only find it at World Market. They've been out of it for 2 weeks. I was instructed today to see if they have it in yet and to buy every single can they have!

Of course, I'm not going to do that. One can lasts 2 or 3 months. I would have about a 10 year supply on hand and then have to worry about where to keep it. Someone told me Sam's carries it. I had a friend give me a Sam's card from her business account. Our Sam's has only been open a couple of months and, of course, I've never been in it.

I may make a trek there today just to check it out. This cleaner runs about $3.79 a can.

I'm on a self-imposed shoe buying hiatus, thusly $10 sounds like a good deal to me. Did they have soles?

There happens to be a World Market in the same shopping center as Staples, where I was going today to look at PENCILS PENCILS PENCILS. If you allow me to talk about pencils as much as I want to, I"ll check for your cleaner.

Seriously, BoB, I'm leaving in about half an hour and I'll check on it for you. It's probably pretty heavy, but I could get as much as I think would fit in a large flat rate box for like $12 priority (small flat rate is $9.30).

If you want me to, tell me what the brand and type is. I could actually even call you from the store to consult on proper label and number of cans you want.

I thought that would be a good price, if it included shipping. One can, shipping is $8.56!

So, do you want me to check for it at World Market? If so, pm me your number (if your cell is AT&T, the minutes won't even count!) and we can confer on quantity if I find it.

Also, I'm going to talk about pencils some more later on. Just substitute the word "shoe" for "pencil" when you read it and you'll do just fine.
