Now, sweetie, you know I've never interfered in who you call your friends, but I really think you shouldn't encourage them when they make remarks about how we're not as close as you would like for us to be. Why don't you invite Ms. Christie to tea one afternoon, and I'll rearrange my schedule, even the important volunteering work with the elderly, just so we can all visit and Ms. Christie can see how close we really are.
Just make sure not to invite that Mr. Simpson. I've heard his name with some unpleasentness somewhere before.
