mellowmom said they called for Joe, yesterday. Sound like this is the explanation.lilyvonschtupp26 wrote:they are adding a new lifeline to tweak interest. Wanted to know if I wanted to be a PAF but through a Webcam. Details coming later. Anybody else who's been on the show get a call?

And it might discourage Google searches if everyone is watching you on a webcam, mightn't it?

Hmm...could this be why they have trimmed the traditional PAF list to three slots?lilyvonschtupp26 wrote:they are adding a new lifeline to tweak interest. Wanted to know if I wanted to be a PAF but through a Webcam. Details coming later. ?

If TPTB are embracing webcam technology, because it will be so much more interesting to see the PAF instead of just hearing the PAF, I wonder if they'll be considerate enough to provide a webcam view of the studio, so the PAF can see the question instead of having to rely on hearing it only.
Hot Seat veterans who get called about this might consider asking.

It sounds as if they're reviving a popular feature of the late, lamented Disney WWTBAM PlayIt attraction -- the Phone A Complete Stranger lifeline.
Sure, if I'm a contestant in the hot seat, of course I'd want to waste my PAF call by reaching someone I've never met or talked to or even heard of. Why use it to call someone you actually know and trust and spent hours practicing with?
EDIT -- Just in case Kay is right and someone from the WWTBAM staff actually reads this board, I wish to reiterate my undying gratitude and loyalty to the show and to Michael Davies and to everyone at Embassy Row and to the shows they produce. I don't know exactly what changes they have planned for this season, but I hope they are successful and I'll reserve judgment until I know more details. Any preliminary opinions I may express are intended to be constructive and I hope WWTBAM stays on the air for several more decades. If I can help make that happen in any way, I am happy to do so. I think they know I am sincere about that, and they know how to reach me.
And if anyone from WWTBAM is reading this, tell everyone up there that Ed says howdy!

Unless it's in addition to the traditional PAF - Ask a Former Contestant??? You'd be gambling on how smart they are but if there's a webcam at least you'd get to see the look on their face to determine if they look confident or like a deer in headlights!!TheConfessor wrote:It sounds as if they're reviving a popular feature of the late, lamented Disney WWTBAM PlayIt attraction -- the Phone A Complete Stranger lifeline.

When I got my call tell me my taping date, my handler alluded to something about the lifelines changing, I wasn't sure if the change was additive, i.e. adding extra life-lines or modifying/replacing existing life-lines. He told me the info would be in the packet they are sending. I haven't recieved the packet yet, but if there is a non-discloser, I wont comment on them. I guess someone who goes to the first taping would probably be free to discuss the changes. The only info that I know for a fact I can disclose is the requirement for a PAF to sign a waiver and provide a photo. They give you 5 business days to provide at least a soft copy of that info for you maximum of 3 PAFs and you need to make sure that they have an original copy of the waiver by the time you tape.sunflower wrote:Unless it's in addition to the traditional PAF - Ask a Former Contestant???
