And I thought travel couldn't get weirder...

So, I was flying back from Vegas yesterday afternoon, and something odd happened. We pulled away from the gate, and about 2 minutes into our taxiing, the people in the back of the plane (I was in the second row behind First Class) started to cheer. Yeah, we were a few minutes late, but this was a first -- people GLAD to be out of Vegas.

Then, a minute or two later, one of the flight attendants announced that they were sorry for the delay, but they had to return to the gate. Again, the people in the back cheered! When we got to the gate, we were met by 2 security guards, who headed back to the back. I, like an idiot, still didn't look back. The flight attendant at the front of the plane started mentioning about how, a couple of weeks earlier, they had to have securite wait for a flight on arrival in Houston (it was Continental), to arrest a couple who -- on an afternoon flight -- were having LOUD sex in their seats. Then, about 2 minutes later, the guards came back up the aisle, accompanying a young (say, 23 or so) Asian woman. Purple hair streaks, obviously drunk, swearing like a sailor. A third time, the people in the back cheered, loudly.

They closed the door again, and the jetway started pulling away from the plane, and a flight attendant came up the aisle, carrying a plastic bag holding a square styrofoam container (like a breakfast platter at Mickey D's). And she was saying something that sounded an awful lot like, "Wait...

...she forgot her poo!"

So, putting it all together, it appears as if this young lady just decided she couldn't hold it any longer......

I guess everything does stay in Vegas.

Pretty disgusting. The gate agents should be watching for passengers that appear to be intoxicated and not let them on the flight. Maybe she was perfectly normal up until then, but somehow I kinda doubt it.

We'd have a lot of empty seats leaving Vegas.

Technically, they can (and are supposed to) deny boarding to anyone who is obviously intoxicated. But it's *extremely* rare that it actually happens.

Unless there's a TV crew filming scenes for 'Airline'.

Maybe it was one of those "special" sandwiches that that kitty serves here.

They were cheering for the flight attendant, and for security, and for the peace and quiet she left behind.

I just wish I'd had a video camera...this would have made a great YouTube video.
