A song for all auditioners

Especially the multiples. To the tune of "Sunrise, Sunset". Apologies to the songwriters.
-------------------------------------------------
Is this the seventh time I've tried out?
Or is it seventeen today?
I think I'm perfect for this game show.
Why don't they?
When did I start to be obsessive?
All this auditioning's a pain.
Wasn't it yesterday
When I was sane?
Sign up, take test.
Sign up, take test.
Try and make them care.
AP's and interview one more time.
Trying to get into that chair.
How can I not appear so MAWGish?
How can I seem to be a play'r?
Now I must learn from all the others
Ev'ry day.
His hook is that he looks like Santa.
Hers is she's bubbly and a WE.
Is there a Happy Card in store for me?
Sign up, take test.
Sign up, take test.
Try and make them care.
AP's and interview one more time.
Trying to get into that chair.
Sign up, take test.
Sign up, take test.
Onward once again!
Each season passing there without me.
Hoping this time won't be in vain.

Marvellous, gsabc, simply marvellous!
May I sing this at an upcoming audition or are you reserving that right for yourself?
Perhaps we could perform as a chorus?

Use it however you want! I've got all my earlier ones for my own use.
I'm still on mailbox watch. Nothing today, so I can remain hopeful until after work on Monday at least.

A day late, and now I have more than that, but it
was appropriate, wasn't it?

OK, I figured out MAWG and AP without too much difficulty, but what is a WE? A World Emigrant? A Widowed Ent?

Bored lingo can be a bit confusing. WE is "Who Else" and/or "Where Else". WE/WE means an actor from the New York City area, a type of contestant frequently seen on the show.

Wondeful, gsabc!
I've been saving my own version to a different song from the same show for that day WHEN I finally get my "happy" card. No prizes for guessing which song.

You are so talented at this, Gordon! (always have been) I giggled when I attempted to sing it with the same intensity as the original. LOL!

Speaking of songs from the same show, here's an oldie but a goodie.
Those were the days *sigh*:
---------------------------
Who travels far to see the day's contestants,
Give out all the test forms, question all the players?
And who writes it down and brings it to New York
To make the final choice who plays?
It's Sonny! And Jennifer! Audition!
It's Sonny! And Jennifer! Audition!
Who must know the way to run a proper show,
A winning show, a top game show?
Who must pick the players to be on the show
So we will watch and yell at the TV?
It's Michael P. Davies! Audition!
It's Michael P. Davies! Audition!
At six, I started dialing up. By six-ten I was in.
I hear the tests are tough, but still I've got my PIN.
The Jipter! The Jipter! Audition!
The Jipter! The Jipter! Audition!
And who gets to the show? Who has the most gimmicks,
And has their fingers faster than others Michael picks?
The winners! The winners! Audition!
The winners! The winners! Audition!
(final chorus sung as a round, ending with a rousing shout of "AUDITION!")

They see you coming at them every week
To the auditions, they must think you're a geek
They know your lifestyle, they think you're a bore
You're just a MAWG, they've seen plenty like you before
Town to town, you're always on the move
Always turn you down, but you've got something to prove
Never miss a chance with the Millionaire crew
You keep doing the dance, 'cause nobody wants you
They crave the actors and the young and the free
Throw their affections to the gods of diversity
You never make it off the cutting room floor
It seems that Sonny always shows you to the door
Showing up again for the eleventh time
Into the lion's den and the scene of the crime
Can't think of a catch, don't have an act to do
You're gonna be a scratch, cause nobody wants you
TPTB knows you
TPTB loathes you
Davies doesn't need you, read you, feed you
Years of confusion and impossible dreams
Look in the mirror, it's time for a change it seems
Swallow your glory, and do something brash
Show up next time with glasses and a fake mustache
Say goodbye to conventional ways
No blue shirt and tie, no that isn't what pays
You just don't understand why your smarts just won't do
Or else you'll end up banned, cause nobody wants you
