Happy Halloween Dog News
The good news is that Beebs the Black Lab is going to have a rather largish mass removed from his left inner thigh that's been hanging around for a couple of years.
The bad news is it will cost a rather largish chunk of change.
The better news is that this mass, which I was under the impression, based on a different vet's view, was already probably entwined in muscles and would create more incapacitation than healing if we were to remove it, pantpantpant---will be a piece of cake to remove and no sweat! It's not cancer. He'll have to wear the Elizabethan collar for a bit but it's out patient surgery and two weeks should see him back to what constitutes normal for him.
This is awesome.

Good news !. loved your blog on this.
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Woo Hoo! Thank goodness for Veterinary Medicine! He'll be his ol self in no time. Its amazing how animals can heal, and rebound from all sorts of maladies!Beebs52 wrote:The good news is that Beebs the Black Lab is going to have a rather largish mass removed from his left inner thigh that's been hanging around for a couple of years.

Also, an interesting dog ear tidbit. Labs are prone to ear infections (Elvis was notorious for this). BB doesn't get them much, but has a grimy left ear working up to an infection.
Red and yellow food dyes, found in Snausages and Beggin Strips and Kibbles n Bits and lots of other pet foods, contribute to the earwax buildup pre-infection problem.
We just returned a big bag'o stuff for some colorless food. For most of his life he's been eating colorless food and once he started getting picky we caved and bought him the really tasty, color-laden stuff. Which he got picky about, too. So now we can go back to ungooped up stuff and SAVE THE EARS!
