Now that you've delurked (in an education thread) why don't you tell us about your WWTBAM interests? Have you auditioned for the show already? Are you planning to go to an audition?

Wow, nothing escapes you.
Ten years ago, I won one night of Jeopardy. For awhile I thought that was enough excitement for one lifetime, but recently I decided to find out how much my brain cells have atrophied during middle age, and I signed up for my first WWTBAM audition.
I auditioned in New York on May 5. I passed the test, spent what seemed like an eternity talking to a staff person (actual time elapsed? not a clue), then got the second interview on tape. I left bummed, thinking I'd used all my energy in the first interview and been boring in the second. However, three weeks later I got the happy card.
Here I'd like to note that it's thanks to this board that I even knew I had to gird for the interview. Apparently it takes a lot of preparation to create the illusion of spontaneity.

Melora, your story sounds promising! If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be to start thinking about/lining up Phone-a-Friends nownownow. Practice with them if at all possible and make sure they know the gig. Don't pick a PaF because you date them, work for them, etc, but fill in your knowledge gaps. If you think the audition took preparation, get your seatbelt fastened! Good luck to you!

Congratulations, Melora, and good luck getting The Call!
I suspect TPTB may start picking up the phone this week...

This does indeed sound promising. I too am a one day J! champ (1991). And I got the happy postcard. I never got a second interview, well, because they didn't do it four years ago. But I did make it to the show. Good luck getting the call.

We gave you one of
those already in hopes you'd quit griping, but I see it didn't work. I should have personally delivered it and inserted it into your larynx....

Yeah, you did. But it was supposed to be part of a set; without that phone call, that set was incomplete.

A smart assessment. Season 7 taping begins in just over three weeks.

Don't blame me! I didn't even come around here yesterday. I was too busy returning that piece of junk GPS....

Not you, silly, the sky-diving squirrel.
Now I gotta review Uly's posts to see why he's got a sky-diving squirrel for his avatar.

You don't

Gratuitous avatar foul on Uly! Changing his avatar for no reason at all without first reporting to the official. That's a 13 yard, 2 foot, 8 inch penalty, to be accessed on the kickoff, and a loss of Photoshop privileges.
Still 0th down!

That's none of your business!
And I'm letting Commissioner Bettman know you're using his sport's footage without his express written consent.....
