#1 Post by ulysses5019 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 11:29 pm

I answered my sploofus q and I'm number 29........ok, now I'm 38 and falling like a rock. I don't see any bored names up there. But then most bbs are asleep. Now I'm 42 so I'll stop before my ego takes any more of a beating.

I swear I answered as fast as I could. I ended up with 1206. Gotta quit playing on my laptop. BTW, you're 17 now. That's always the way it is at the beginning of the month.

Woo hoo! I'm 148, the first time ever in the 100's. Let's see how fast I can drop.

When I installed the new computer, I redid how my network is set up. I think that my online speed is faster. Tonight I hesitated before I answered on an easy question, so I was shocked that my time was so good.

Me too, but that's the only computer I own. I think it costs me about 2 or 3 seconds each day. I'm currently #120.

Competition must be stiffening up. I missed three questions last month and still finished higher than this month when I missed two.

And by last month and this month I mean May and June. Because the day doesn't start until I finish my first tureen of coffee.
Spoiler
I'm darned good and ready.

Gee, I wonder were all that new competition came from? Its fun to see all the familiar names, I just wish they weren't all ahead of me.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.
