The day they said would never happen...

#1 Post by Rexer25 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 6:41 am

is happening today.

50! Man, I thought I'd be gone by 25.

Well, I must go, I've got to find my Bermuda shorts, knee-high black socks and sandals, and get in line for the early bird special at Denny's.

Whippersnappers.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

I remember when I'd see an obituary in the paper where somebody died at 35 and think 'eh, they had a good, full life....'. Now I see 65 and think 'how sad, they were so young.....'. I was telling my mom a while back that I think one's definition of 'old' is always 20-25 years older than you are at that time.
Spoiler
I'm darned good and ready.

Have you scheduled your colonoscopy yet?

Jumped the gun on that one, had it last year when I was experiencing "abdominal discomfort". Turns out I was (really!) full of crap.

Happy 50th Birthday Rexer.

Didn't realize you were that much older than me (exactly 2 months). I assumed you were younger, actually.

Happy b-day Rexer!

You're OLD. And you'll LIKE IT! Just like I LIKED IT when I got old. And I'm STILL LIKING IT, *$&@% it!

You're just a snot-nosed puppy and those under 50 are just snot-nosed, um, almost-puppies.
Well, then

The youngest of my younger brothers was born in 1958. I remember when my folks brought the little punk home from the hospital.

Over the years, however, my brothers have grown to be so much older than I am. Funny how that happens.

Have a good one, Rexer!

hermillion...

When I turned 39 so many moons ago, I asked my Mom, "How is it that we are BOTH 39 now?"

My Aunt always would tell us that she was 39...until she told us all that she collected her first social security...then, the jig was up!
