Prayer request for BIL's wife

It seems there's always something bad that happens to balance the good. In the midst of the shower and wedding preparations, we've found out that my BIL's wife has ovarian cancer. She goes into the hospital for the operation on Monday, followed by recuperation and chemo/radiation. She and BIL are optimistic; apparently they caught it early. For whatever thoughts and prayers you can spare, I thank you.

The advancements today are phenomenal. My MIL was diagnosed with advanced Ovarian 2 weeks before our wedding in 1988. She had immediate surgery and went down the aisle in a wheelchair. Exactly 20 years later she's alive, kicking, and busier than anyone i know. She still has occasional chemo "boosters" when the blood markers get elevated, and nowadays the chemicals don't even give her hairloss or nausea. Wishing all the best for you and your loved ones. She will be ok!!

Update: She will be going in for the surgery around 2 PM EDT. They were originally scheduled for first thing in the morning, but changed it for some reason. We won't know anything until late tonight or sometime tomorrow. BIL said not to call tonight.

Healing wishes to your sister in law. Do they live close by?

Not close enough. Central NJ. Worrying will be done long-distance. I hope not to hear anything today, because fast news is usually not good news in cases like this.

Update: She is doing as well as can be expected. They took out all the parts that could be taken out, and did see some nodules. Plans are to get her home Friday to heal up from the operation, then on to chemo and radiation. AFAIK, they are still planning to attend the wedding, so they remain optimistic.

The news through my mother, though, was that it wasn't ovarian cancer, but a rare form of some other type, she didn't know which. My non-medical brain says this isn't good news, a cancer of one type showing up on another organ. Not knowing the type, I can't check it out and tell for sure.

Please keep the prayers, etc., in effect until further notice. Thank you.
