I finally cracked into the top 100 for the month. I'm sure I'll drop back out by the end of the day, but it's nice to have worked my way back despite missing 6 questions this month.

Congratulations! Does that make 12 of us? I think there may be others with different names than here on the bored. I've missed three and had one q time out and not register. I think I am high enough that I will stay in the top 100. At least until tomorrow.

I've missed two for sure, one I just mixed up my Brontes and another one I just flat missed, but had it narrowed down to two and, had I given it a few more seconds of thought, I'm pretty sure I would have chosen the other one. For some reason I think I've missed another one, but I can't remember what it was, it just seems that it was a miniscule amount of people that got it right. Is there somewhere in your stats where it shows your questions (or at least categories) and how many you've missed? I just recently found the quiz stats like that.

Anyway, I've missed either two or three but, last I checked, I was still high enough to be on the home page (I haven't played in a couple of days). I think rather than going on time, the point bonus should be based on the percentage of right answers. When I get one that 98.2% have answered correctly in 3 seconds, big whoop. But when I get one that 2.3% have answered correctly in 18 seconds, I get all excited. Even though I get less points. Or maybe a mixture of speed and difficulty?

I had a Books and Authors question today and I had no clue. Walt Whitzman was an answer, so I guessed him and was correct.

As of right now I am ranked #14. I believe that I have missed two questions this month, but my connection on the old computer was unreliable, so I didn't get high time bonuses.

After a slow start this month, I went on a roll and cracked the top 100 a couple of days ago. I was 48 after I answered this morning. No matter how quickly I answer, I never get a time less than 4 seconds. I'm registered as Barbotte over there.

I just went over to catch up on my questions and I get a message that they are currently upgrading to Version 2.0. Anybody read about this and what, if any, improvements or enhancements there may be?

I always see Carfish on the listings and I thought that might be you. Ha!

I just went over there and was informed that I couldn't sign in because I "was not a valid 2.0 Beta tester member." Swell. I hope that is a temporary glitch. Otherwise, it's an excellent way to make sure I fall from my current ranking on the final days of the month.

I'd gladly take Carfish's points. Maybe it's another Catfish who found "Catfish" was taken. This happens alot. When I try to substitute my Fanny-bestowed "Kittyfish," that likewise is taken. "Barbotte" is French Canadian for catfish. Since I've started learning Italian, though, I think I'll use "PesceGatto" for subsequent registrations.

Wow, I just tried again and it is totally different! I can't log on because it says I'm not a 2.0 beta tester but I could access the leaderboards and stuff and there is way more than before.

It looks like it will really be an improvement!

You can still access a lot of other stuff and check it out, though. I'm thinking the 2.0 beta tester thing is just the people who are working on it (judging from the online user list) and making sure things are functional since they've loaded it.

One thing I hope they have is showing the leader list past June 30 so you at least know your final place for the month.

The new format isn't showing my TQOTD rank in the top bar.

I noticed that too. I have to go a seek it out......if I'm still in the top 100. BUT there is now a way to view everyone's score with the "next" button. And they have updated the archives! I ended up 93 last month.
I missed last night's question in physical science (I refuse to take that category off my list). I don't feel so bad. Only 2.7% got it right. Oh well. Maybe I'll hang onto the bottom rung of the top 100.

I hate that the stats are at the bottom of the page, but they don't have an option to put them at the top of the page.

That is the first thing I noticed and about the only thing I don't like. Whenever I get the timed out error message, I can find out if I got the question right or not just by looking at the top and seeing if my rank changed.

I really like the kerplunks, though.

Yay! I wonder if this means that the final standings will change when people answer questions after the end of the month.

I'm not going to look. So far today, I've managed to hang on to my ranking ever since I answered my last question, and if I get passed by dozens of people who answer their questions late, I don't want to know!

I think, I hope, that Mr. Kellley is mathematically secure in first place for the month, and I bow in awe and cheer for his most impressive showing!

I hope they fine tune this new and improved version. I just tried to answer my new question and as soon as I clicked the icon to start the clock and reveal the question, it gave me a big pop up graphic that obscured the question. I'd never seen that before, so I had to figure out how to get it off my screen while the clock was running, and my time to answer the question was over 12 seconds. Then I looked at the score and ranking at the bottom of the page and it hadn't changed. So I went to the master TQOTD scoreboard and eventually found myself listed as #193, but at the bottom of the page it still says I'm #320.

I answered today's question, then got a blank screen, then when I refreshed the page, I was informed that I'd taken too long to answer the question. Which I had answered correctly.

Yeesh.
I am about 25% sure of this.
