I find it effective, Earth-friendly, and cheap.

Is it really effective? I'd think household vinegar might be too dilute for that.

Do you pour it over the leaves or soak it into the roots?

I spray it. It seems only to work on existing weeds. It's quick, too.

The organic gardening radio dude here says it works, but the stronger the vinegar, the better it works. Gardening stores that carry a lot of organic products here sell 20% vinegar. It will kill the leaves of any plant you spray it on, so you can't use it in the lawn. It works better on a sunny day, I'm not sure why.

I just sprayed weed killer on the lawn yesterday, but I didn't get to the rocked parts. Since Nitrah says it's quick and it's sunny today (but it's always sunny here, ick) I'm going to go out and give it a try. I've just got regular old vinegar (probably Great Value) so I don't know how strong it is.

Great Value vinegar? We always had some crap called Roger's. It always liked to leak all over the place like Beast's ammonia....

Regular vinegar is usually 4 or 5%. It'll still work, just not as fast. And it may require more than one treatment.
