Hoping for Change

After inspecting the platoon, the Marine Corps lieutenant told the sergeant that the men smelled bad.

The young lieutenant suggested that the men change their underwear.

The sergeant responded, 'Yessir, I'll see to it immediately.'

The sergeant went into the barracks and told the men, 'The lieutenant thinks you guys smell bad, and he wants you to change your underwear. Smith, you change with Jones; McCarthy, you change with Witkowskie; Brown, you change with Schultz..... Change, now, get on with it!'

Moral: you can promise or even demand change, but the stink will remain.

Well, even if they did, Mr. Ulysses, how many laundromats are in Afghanistan? And would their sons and daughters help them get local change for the machines? Not that we would want to put them out or anything.
