Flaky Flix

I went to the grocery store with Emma today. She asked if I would buy some of the checkerboard wafer cookies for her. I said ok.
On the shelf underneath there were Flaky Flix. I stopped looking for them because Mother's Cookies stopped making them a few years ago.
Naturally I bought many of them. When I got home, I opened the package, made Jeff close his eyes, take a bite, and guess what they were. He knew instantly.

Those were my mother's favorites.

They are shorter and fatter than they used to be, but they taste the same.

These are some sort of cookie?
I thought this thread would be about questionable movies.

Me, too! I was thinking maybe AFI was really scraping the bottom of the barrel to put on another countdown show.
Maybe it's a west coast thing as I've never heard of them, either. The only Mother's Cookies I remember are the ones with the glob of fruit in the middle.

Hmm. Never heard of them. I used to be addicted to their frosted animal cookies, til I took a look at the nutritional panel. Yowser! Cured that addiction in a hurry.

When she opened the package, Emma automatically looked at the nutritional panel for the Flaky Flix. I told her that I didn't want to know.

Okay, they look familiar from the picture. The name just didn't ring a bell. Were those the kind that you could separate the layers and eat them in separate stages? (I don't think they were designed to be eaten that way, we just did.)

I never had these (maybe they're a regional thing?) but I used to separate the layers and eat them with both sugar wafers and Little Debbie Nutty Bars. I think anything that's wafer like was probably eaten in that manner by at least one kid!

I have actually sent bacon from The Grateful Palate as gifts. It's very good stuff.

I'd rather have Beer of the Month, but that sounds good too!

Never heard of them either, but I do like the wafer cookies. I'll be watching for them, but won't get my hopes up.

I am not going to even look at them. I do not need another thing added to the list of "I don't care what's in it or how many empty calories it has, I deserve it" list.
