The Hulk

I couldn't find a thread about this, so here it is.

I took three young boys (8,8,6) to see it today. It was much better than I expected. Two of the boys didn't want to go (I think they saw the version from a few years ago). The storyline is actually pretty good and I would rate it only slightly below Ironman.

PSM's speculative comment was true (see her comments in the Ironman thread).

They also managed a cameo of Bill Bixby along with Lou Ferrigno showing their respect for the TV version.

Maddie and I saw it last week and liked it more than we thought that we would.

I preferred Edward Norton in the role of Bruce Banner, even though I really like Eric Bana.

I thought that Bill Bixby's cameo was very clever!

I thought the idea of picking up the story with the Hulk already in existance, rather than waste half of the movie recreating his origins, was good. I don't know why every superhero movie seems to feel it is necessary to tell the story of the hero's origins. This takes half the film and leaves little opportunity for plot development. It's why sequels are often much better than the original.

All in all, this was a decent movie, but not as good as Ironman, the main reason being a nearly complete lack of humor. Everyone in Ironman seemed to be having a good time; everyone here appears to be miserable.
