A nice couple but they must have married at an older age.

Figures that a recent pop culture question might catch her. Since "Gilmour Girls" seems to have been popular viewing among the writers (there have been several questions based on this show) I've seen the answer before.

She should have gone with Beverly's answer. I don't know if there is a London Board of Trade but I've heard of the Chicago BoT, so figured that was the right answer.

I'd be going for $25K with all lifelines in play.

So, after all these years of marriage, Patsy's husband wouldn't support her making a once-in-a-lifetime 50/50 gamble of $7K to win $8K plus the opportunity to continue for much more?

Yeah, everyone has their own risk/reward ratio. Some are lower than others. $8K is still a lot of money to many people. Without details on their personal finances, we often can't fathom the reasoning behind continuing or walking. Some folks, as described in the quote above, have other motives behind the action. As long as she has no regrets about it, it's okay. Maybe not good viewing from a BB perspective, but it's her decision.
