"Well, the name's familiar, but..."
Name a popular song performed by an artist with the same name as the mythical or historical figure described in the clue. 10 points for each one correct, but no bonus points for those with encyclopedic knowledge of music who list all the songs ever performed by that person. Just one per customer, please.
1. “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too.
3. Novel which won the 1926 Pulitzer Prize for Sinclair Lewis. (Okay, so I got a little creative with the spelling. Who do you think I am, TGT?)
4. A cairn terrier whose “real” name was Terry.
5. It accounts for about 30% of the Earth’s total land mass.
6. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.
7. (This one’s a little tougher) “Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Minemine, Mine, Mine, Mineminemine, Mine, mine.”

1. This clue describes someone? So I need a song performed by someone with the same name as "an Angry God". Stumped on this one. NOPE.
2. I'm starting to think I don't get this category. I need a song by Roger Williams? OK, someone named Roger Williams. NOPE.
3. Ah,hah, Arrowsmith -> Aerosmith. "Walk This Way"
4. Toto "Africa"
5. Asia "Heat of the Moment"
6. Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody"
7. A Flock of Seagulls "I Ran"
Hmm. Even though I think I figured out the category, I still can't quite figure out #1 and 2.

Whatever - Godsmack
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too.

Hmm, looks like Musical Monday finds me at least a little less tone deaf than the past ones...
1. “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”
Umm, nope.
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too.

Toto, Rosanna
5. It accounts for about 30% of the Earth’s total land mass.

QE II so Queen? If so then Bohemian Rhapsody.
7. (This one’s a little tougher) “Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Minemine, Mine, Mine, Mineminemine, Mine, mine.”

I do not know.
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too.
Autumn Leaves.

Walk This Way.
4. A cairn terrier whose “real” name was Terry.
I know the dog/group is Toto, but I can't name any songs. I really hatehatehate missing a question with a dog connection.
5. It accounts for about 30% of the Earth’s total land mass.
I think you mean Asia, but I don't know which songs are by the group with that name.
6. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.
We Are the Champions
7. (This one’s a little tougher) “Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Minemine, Mine, Mine, Mineminemine, Mine, mine.”
I Ran. This is my theme song! I'm a lucky girl, though, because I saw the movie to make the connection two Saturdays ago on TV.

I wish I would have thought of Godsmack. I guess I get what mrk was going for here but I like your answer better. I was stuck trying to think of a band called Jehovah or Jupiter or Zeus or something like that.

I got it by the time I hit Aerosmith and Toto, but I don't know any hymns anyway (which is what I guess #1 is), so I left it in hopes of at least getting creativity points. Or at least points for knowing a Godsmack song. Ha!
Now I just have to find some source that says mountains cover 30% of the earth's land mass.

1. “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”
Um....What's the silliest answer I can give to this one? Howzabout "The Indian Love Call" from "Mars Attacks!"?
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too.
Geez, I don't know another Roger Williams other than the Rhode Island guy. In the very very very unlikely event that you were confusing Williams with Roger Miller, I'll go with "King of the Road".
3. Novel which won the 1926 Pulitzer Prize for Sinclair Lewis. (Okay, so I got a little creative with the spelling. Who do you think I am, TGT?)
Took me a few minutes to remember other Sinclair Lewis novels other than "Main Street" (I was tempted to put "Potato's in the Paddy Wagon"!) and "Babbitt" (Did Tom Cruise or Dustin Hoffman sing anything???). But I do believe that "Janie's Got a Gun" would work for this one.
4. A cairn terrier whose “real” name was Terry.
Finally, a slam dunk. "Africa."
5. It accounts for about 30% of the Earth’s total land mass.
How bout "Heat of the Moment"?
6. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.
My personal favorite is "Fat Bottomed Girls".
7. (This one’s a little tougher) “Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Minemine, Mine, Mine, Mineminemine, Mine, mine.”
I LOVE this one! "I Ran".

Couldn't you have had one lousy question about the inventor of the seed drill? Sheesh...
1. “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” --
NFC, but I may smack my head later
2. Ordained in the Church of England, he converted to Puritanism, was booted out of Salem for being too radical (can you imagine?) and wound up establishing the first Baptist church in America. Oh, by the way, he founded Rhode Island, too. -- This describes Roger Williams, of course, but I don't know his songs. I'll WAG that at some point he covered...oh...
White Christmas
3. Novel which won the 1926 Pulitzer Prize for Sinclair Lewis. (Okay, so I got a little creative with the spelling. Who do you think I am, TGT?) -- another future head-smacker, I got
nuthin'
4. A cairn terrier whose “real” name was Terry. --
Africa (growing up in the 80s and buying Toto cassettes had to be good for something...)
5. It accounts for about 30% of the Earth’s total land mass. -- Can't think of a group named "Asia," so I'll cross fingers and hope you meant "America" to include both North and South America; they sang, among other things,
The Last Unicorn
6. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor. -- I hope you're thinking of "Queen," in which case I'll say
We Will Rock You
7. (This one’s a little tougher) “Mine. Mine. Mine. Mine. Minemine, Mine, Mine, Mineminemine, Mine, mine.” --
I Ran (OK, where's Flock?)
