Speaking of ticks

An old story, but one to remember if you're traipsing about amongst the pines and such.
Back when we first moved here our youngest came in at the end of the day, after playing around the cul de sac. The cul de sac, hello.
He had what appeared to be a piece of dirt at the outer corner of his eye, in his eyelashes. I tried to brush it off and it didn't brush. It was a tick.
I freaked. I got tweezers and pulled that sucker out, along with several eyelashes (he was threeish so I'm sure he's got a memory of his ma trying to kill his eyeball). Put them in a baggie and took them to the doc.
It turned out to be a tick, but nothing came of it. No bites, rashes, etc. However, it was a small tick, which means it coulda been the Lyme disease tick, because the big, bulbous, engorged ticks you find on dogs usually are deer ticks, and the small ones are suspect.
Grossed me out totally.
PSM, I'm so glad you overcame all that, because it has caused big old probs with some people. A former neighbor in Memphis contracted Lyme disease and had a bad run with it.
