QoD 06/12/08 Tricky Thursday a day late

See how Tricky I am? I'm desperately trying to keep from having to punt another QoD, but life is busy these days. Three games tomorrow, four on Sunday, then back to school on Monday....
In recognition of that, I have only one question for you today, so it will be worth 50 points. Since it's not being posted until mid-afternoon Friday, I'll leave it open until 2:00 Central time on Monday.
Agrippina the Elder, mother of Caligula grandmother of Nero (she must've had a wonderful gene pool) died in AD 33 at the age of 46. If we assume she was born and died on the same calendar date, in what year was she born? (Assume the modern Gregorian calendar for both dates, even though neither it nor the Julian calendar was in use yet.)

Nope -- that's next on my plate, after I get caught up on posting the questions.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the real question is whether there was a Year 0. I don't think there was. If AD refers to the years in which Christ was on the planet, I think the day of His birth would be the first day of the year 1 AD, rather than waiting for the first birthday party. Counting backwards, the year before birth would be 1 BC, using the same logic. So, Miss Agrippina would have lived 33 years in the AD era, and 13 years BC. She did have to wait for a birthday to be 1, though, so that would mean she was born in 14 BC in order to be 13 when 1 AD began. My answer is 14 BC.
This is tricky. I may be wrong, because two-footers confuse me sometimes.

I wish I could remember whether you were one who argued that the millennium started in 2000 or 2001, since that would tell me whether you think there's such a thing as a year zero. I'm going to guess that you think not, since that seems to be the majority opinion (even if it's wrong), in which case the answer is 14 BCE.

[pretending I'm in the hot seat looking at the million dollar question]
[deep breath, thinking "Don't blow this. Don't blow this."]
Someone dying in 33AD and born on the same day in 1BC would have been 33 at death, since they would have turned 1 in 1 AD, 2 in 2 AD, 3 in 3 AD and so on. Since Aggripina was 46 - or13 years older than 33 - at death, she must have been born 13 years earlier than 1 BC which puts the year of her birth at:
14 BC.
Final answer.

14 BC. Seems pretty straight forward so that is probably wrong given it is "Tricky Thursday". Sort of.

Since I don't think there was a year zero (anno domine, the year of our Lord, should begin with 1 AD as Christ's birth year I think), I believe that would make Grippi's birth year 14 BC.
I hope I'm right,'cuz I hurt my head thinking on this.

14 BC, I think

14 BC, since there was no year "0," either BC or AD (I hope I counted right...)

I think I'm somehow goofing something about the BC/AD changeover, but the Magic Notebook says:
14 BC
