"Astronomy"
Inspired by the incredibly poor idea that is the "plutoid," I decided to save particle physics for another time, and go with the category that probably had the most to do with allowing me to become a Jeopardy! champion: astronomy. As usual, five questions worth 10 pts each on today's game.

3. The classification of stars based on their color of light and temperature. OBAFGKM
Os are the bluest and hottest down to Ms which are the reddest and coldest. Sol is a G star: yellow and relatively cool.

I don't think I'd have done better with the first set, but yecch.

I know B and C are constellations (well, I know there's a microscope and a clock), so it's a 50/50 shot...
As for #2, it's a 25/25/25/25 shot....I have no clue. When in doubt, Charlie out.

Another SWAG. I think the G stands for "Gamma rays".

Boy am I glad I let the morning QoD pass. I was tempted when I knew two of them and had a guess for a third. I should get at least 3 of these and maybe 4 or 5.
1. d. Vapoenginium the steam engine (I've heard of the microscope and the clock; the air pump sounded fake, but not as fake as 'Vapoenginium')

3. The stars themselves. The mnemonic gives us the single letter classes of stars.
4. Uranus (my favorite is Puck).
5. Going to take what I hope will at least end up sounding like an educated guess -- I believe the G stands for Gamma
