Tomorrow I will have surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder. The next 6 weeks are NOT going to be fun. No quilting!!!!
Thanks.

Oh dear! How did that happen? Too many curve balls lately?
Wishing you the speediest and smoothest of recoveries!
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Good vibes coming your way, Christy. I know elwing would be devastated if she couldn't knit for six weeks.

And that's why I don't get my torn labrum repaired....besides no quilting, no gus hunting.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

Good luck and get well soon,
and up can you get that from using a mouse too much?
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

No specific injury... just wear and tear! Guess I'm getting OLD!

One of those big zero birthdays next month. But unlike others on the Bored, AARP hasn't figured it out yet!

My mom had rotator cuff surgery a couple of years ago...good outcome for her, but the PT was a bitch at first. She'd fallen down the dark stairs in the middle of the night. Dad gave her a Petzl head lamp as a recovery gift.

No quilting?
That is really tough! Not even a little hand sewing?
What will you do to appease the withdrawal symptoms? I suggest some materials research.

A bit of fabric shopping to add to your stash. You can get out and pet some fabric. Buy a few yards and a new pattern and plan your recovery quilt. Maybe find a really pretty focus fabric that will need a lot of research to get just the right co-ordinating prints.
I feel for your pain, both the arm and the quilting parts!
Hugs to you!

Oh, dear.
Get better soon.
Like The Other Quilting Christy said, go look at fabric as a recovery. Pet the material, envision the plans, think lovely thoughts.
But get better soon!

I've got so many quilts planned ahead, and so much fabric, that I think one more piece and my husband will blow a gasket.
From what I've heard about the type of brace I will have, hand sewing won't be possible either.

I just went and got a lot of books to read. I may try and clean out some of my general sewing stash -- although I hate to part with anything. You never know when you'll need that stray bit of bias tape!!!

I hope you will recover quickly, Christy. Perhaps missing what you would rather be doing will help you get through the physical therapy with determination and good spirits.
