Here in S.C. both of our Republican senators as well as most of the state legislature seats were up for vote in our primary today. And, I am proud to say that I voted against every single incumbent. We need to throw da bums out - all of 'em.

That's unusual, Sirge. Unless there was a vacancy that was filled by appointment (such as resulted in the simultaneous 1992 election of Senators Boxer and Feinstein in California), states usually elect only one senator at a time. --Bob

Actually, you are correct. One senator (Graham) and one Congressman (Inglis) were the ones up for vote.

I will not be able to vote against Jim Clyburn until the General Election, I'll probably write you in even though by that time you won't live in this state, much less this district.

Nope. We're out of here on the 30th. But, I would love to get involved in politics. The problem is, it's tough to do anything these days without money. And, I would not want to accept any "contributions" from special interest groups. So, I would have to rely on the folks.

Problem is, I am a nobody. Have never been involved in any political arena. So, it would definitely be a "grass roots" campaign. But, being a good conservative may get people off the couch. I'd have to polish off my Obama-like oratory, though.

Well, it did not turn out too badly. We got rid of a number of state incumbents but the big dogs easily won their respective primaries. This tells me that either people are satisfied with the status quo, they have no clue and just vote for the incumbents or they are under pressure to keep these bums in.
