WWTBAM Bored

I had a very busy weekend - on Saturday elwing and I went and picked strawberries at one of the local "U-pick" places, then up to Indianapolis for a yarn show so that elwing could get some yarn for a project she's thinking about doing. Yesterday evening our church had an old-time gospel music concert and ice cream, and my two sons returned from their European jaunt.

This morning the whole district is without e-mail - the "efficient organization" help desk says that they are aware of the outage but don't know what the problem is or how long it will take to resolve it. The woman with whom I spoke said that they might even have to replace the server.

Are we going to get another report on where your sons went in Europe?

They gave us a brief summary of their trip. Louisville to Cleveland, then London/Gatwick, where they saw all the sights (Tower of London, Big Ben, Millennium Bridge, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey - although they didn't go in because of the lines). They didn't go to 221B Baker Street, though.

From London they took the train to Brussels and then to Amsterdam, where they toured the Anne Frank house.

From Amsterdam they went to Berlin where they saw where the Berlin Wall used to be, the Reichstag, and Hitler's bunker.

From Berlin they went to Frankfurt and then to Strassbourg before hitting Paris. In Paris they saw the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Arc of Triumph, the Eiffel Tower and other such sights.

From Paris they intended to go to Madrid but ended up in Barcelona; I'm not sure why but it had something to do with extra cost and such. They saw the Sagrada Familia cathedral (which has been under construction for 70 years and isn't anywhere close to being finished yet).

From Barcelona it was back to London, then Cleveland, and finally home.
