Take a kitty camping...

I have this nutty redheaded friend, and like most baby boomers who watched in awe on July 20, 1969, she thinks anything is possible.
She didn't want to leave her 10-week-old kitten home, so Ziva got packed up into her carrier, kitty food, bed, and litter box were all appropriately stashed, and away they went.
It went extremely well. Casey thought one time about herding her, but we put the kibosh on that. Now Ziva thinks that camping is a regular activity for herself and her big sisters, all of whom just happen to be canine people in year-around fur coats.
I hope they keep bringing her, who knows when Casey will need help keeping the heffalumps out of camp.

That is remarkable. But, why not? Holy smokes. But, why not?
How did y'all keep her from escaping?

You can do anything to kittens because they don't know any better. My brother and his wife took their kitten out in the car all the time. She rode on the back of the driver's seat, tucked under the head-backrest thingy.

I just hope there was no cross-breeding.

We really need a Hall of Horrors for Uly's ever morphing avatars. Then we could play Match the Avatar!

I wouldn't expect anything less evil from someone who dresses up my fellow squirrels in dickeys.....
You will be hearing from my friends at the NSAS about this!!!!

Jasper loved to ride in the car as well. He doesn't any more. I think that he associates it with losing his balls.

You may need to change your acronym. Where would the "C" go?

She was allowed outside only when someone was available to keep an eye on her and spent the rest of the time snoozing in the popup camper. She got maybe 10 yards away from the door before someone would haul her back a little closer.
Skoop's right -- cats don't know they're supposed to be afraid of riding in cars, or camping, or lots of other fun things.

We've taken all of our cats camping in the RV. 'Course, that's a lot different from tent camping, not so much from a pop-up. None of them like riding in the car, but they don't think the RV is the same. Since we traded the big 27' rig for a smaller 24' (which is a bigger difference than it sounds), one of the cats drools for the first hour or so of the first day of the trip, like she does in the car, but she settles down pretty quickly and loves the rest of the trip.
Since we got two dogs (instead of one) and a smaller rig, we usually only take one of the cats along, and leave the others home. But we used to travel with four cats and a dog in the bigger rig.
Only real problem is that we can't use the shower as it was intended, since that's where the litter box goes. But almost all campgrounds have showers, and the new rig has a hose hook-up outside in case we go to the beach or the dogs get muddy.
